1. Meditate

There are so many stressors and anxiety inducers taking place in our world right now. Changes in political power, dental school, and a PANDEMIC alone are enough to rattle us. It is important to recognize how these stressors affect us and we need to work to heal the damage they have caused us. This winter, calm your mind through daily meditation. Helpful apps include Headspace and Calm, which offer student memberships.

2. Workout

In recent months we have spent more time sitting down, eyes glued to our computers, than ever. Take an hour for an intense distressing workout or simply ten minutes out of your day to walk outside. Trust me, you will feel calmer and have increased productivity when you return to your work.

3. Spend Time with Those You Love

Whether it is a family FaceTime call, virtual trivia with your college sorority, or grabbing

coffee with a close friend, make it a priority to see people you adore.

4. Nature

Our surroundings can ~heal~ us. Get outside, sit amongst the trees, and watch the leaves fall. Being outside is another amazing way to connect with others during the pandemic. Invite a couple of friends for a hike and pack a picnic to have once you summit!

5. Fuel Your Body

As dental students, we know the impact of nutrition on our health. Feed your body and mind with food that makes you feel good. Do not deprive yourself of anything, but instead eat whole fruits and vegetables and, of course, some holiday treats!
