3 Tips to Succeed in Zoom School

Zoom school is the new norm. The time we spend in front of a screen has drastically increased and “zoom fatigue” has become a major concern. Here are a few tips on how to battle the next zoom call and remain productive.

1. Keep the cameras on:

If you find yourself leaving your camera off during class, it might be worth it to turn them on. This will keep you more engaged throughout the class and keep your mind from wandering. Not only that, but keeping your camera on will sway you to have a proper workspace around you; little things such as having a clean workspace along with being able to present yourself properly in front of the camera, subconsciously, will imitate the feeling of being in a real classroom.

2. Grab a snack or a drink of your choice:

It is completely natural to lose focus when staying in one place doing the same thing for too long; you can easily find yourself feeling drained. Indulging on a tiny snack can act as a simple-but effective- mood enhancer. A snack can act to trick your mind into feeling like it had a break. One will feel more satisfied and will have the urge to continue focusing for a longer period of time.

3. Online study sessions:

Before quarantine was a thing, it was common for students to go to the library or a local coffee shop to study. Feeling the motivation of seeing others study around you can be a big factor in wanting to push yourself. Being in your own house can cause to lose track of your peers and you can find yourself disconnected. This is why online study groups are so great. They allow you to stay connected AND motivated while achieving your goals.

Although we can't change the situation that we are in right now, it is the little things in life that we do which come together to make everything feel as “normal” as possible during this pandemic. It is time to start yet another online (zoom) school semester; let’s make it count by sanitizing, keeping the masks on, and spreading positivity- NOT covid!
